The Pheromones to Perform with Rep. Maxwell Frost at Come Out With Pride

Orlando’s queer punk band, The Pheromones, will take the stage on Rep. Maxwell Frost’s float during the Come Out With Pride event on October 17 in downtown Orlando. This year’s float will feature live music, providing high energy and good vibes to the parade.

The Pheromones, formed by members Skip, Nic, Madi, and Joanna while attending UCF in 2022, initially performed in parking garages. They have since played at notable venues like Conduit, Will’s Pub, and The Abbey, but are excited to return to their grassroots by performing on a flatbed truck. “Every single year, he has a band on his float with him, and so this year, he reached out to us,” said Skip.

They will perform a looping three-song set, featuring their unreleased protest anthem “Push Back.” Madi highlighted the appropriateness of their song’s theme for the event: “Pride is a protest; it started as a protest.” Frost himself will join them on drums at various points during the parade.

For the band, this performance signifies their ongoing commitment to community connection through music. “This gig kind of reminds me of playing at the UCF parking garages,” Nic remarked. Those interested in participating can RSVP via the Team Frost Mobilize Event Page.
