From Mills 50 to MCO: The House on Lang Opens at One of America’s Busiest Airports

A small slice of the Mills 50 neighborhood in Orlando has made its way to a major hub for air travel in the nation. The House on Lang, a locally owned boutique at 1308 Lang Avenue, has officially launched a second store at Orlando International Airport, coinciding with renovations taking place in Terminal B.

This new addition has been in development for over two years, as revealed by the owners, Julie Edwards and Christie McLennan, who are a mother-in-law and daughter-in-law duo. Their first store debuted in November 2020, transforming a bungalow into a boutique space that showcases local art, fashion, home décor, and distinctive gifts, while also serving as a venue for workshops, live performances, and community gatherings.

The latest location aims to cater to travelers at MCO, which served 57.7 million passengers in 2025, making it the seventh-busiest airport in the United States and the busiest in Florida. This expansion is part of a broader concession improvement initiative at the airport, which includes bringing other Central Florida businesses such as Writer’s Block Bookstore and Adjectives into its terminals.

For a family-operated business established in a modest residence on Lang Avenue six years ago, this new airport spot represents a significant milestone in their journey.
