Phantasmagoria does Frankenstein at the Dr. Phillips Center

Phantasmagoria Orlando is set to enchant audiences with its latest production, Frankenstein: The Birth of Horror, as part of a Halloween celebration. This performance revisits a unique vacation in 1816 where notable writers such as Mary Shelley, Percy Bysshe Shelley, Lord Byron, John Polidori, and Claire Clairmont engaged in a chilling game of storytelling to entertain themselves.

Two centuries later, Mary Shelley’s creation remains a cornerstone of horror literature. The show not only features her iconic Frankenstein but also includes works like Polidori’s ‘The Vampyre’ and Byron’s ‘Darkness.’ Phantasmagoria’s theatrical style blends drama, puppetry, and vintage stagecraft to transport viewers to that haunting night. The performance runs from October 16-18 at the Alexis & Jim Pugh Theater in the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, with tickets priced between $50 and $63.
