Día de los Muertos and Monster Party Returns to Downtown Orlando October 15

Next Thursday, October 15, Downtown Orlando will become a hub of spooky festivities as the Downtown Arts District presents its 17th annual Día de los Muertos & Monster Event at CityArts, located at 39 S. Magnolia Avenue.

The event is free and takes place from 6-10 p.m., showcasing new art exhibitions inspired by the Day of the Dead and Halloween inside CityArts. Additionally, a street party on Magnolia Avenue will feature live music, various performances, art vendors, face painting, food trucks, and drinks.

This year’s entertainment lineup includes performances by Mariachi Nuevo Guadalajara, México Lindo Folkloric Ballet, belly dancer Sadira, Banda Alternativa, and singer Francisco Gabriel, culminating in the annual Día de los Muertos procession. The Mexican Consulate and Casa de Mexico will also partake in the celebrations.

A new feature this year is the $50 Sugar Skull Experience, which offers a meal voucher and two drink tickets. Although general admission is free, a $5 donation to the Downtown Arts District is suggested.

Further details can be found on the event’s Eventbrite page.
